OUR POLICY ANALYSTS
Heman Asibuo is a freshman from Ghana and hoping to major in Industrial and Labor Relations. She is interested in policy reform and is a firm believer in strength of collective action. She hopes ULI will serve as an outlet for her passion for policy reform as well as further help develop her research capabilities. Outside of ULI, you can find Heman binge watching TV shows or dancing.
Camilla is a junior majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and pursuing minors in City and Regional Planning and Law & Society. She is also the Co-President of the Cornell Filipino Association and VP of Finance for the Minority ILR Student Organization. She is interested in the effects of urban development on workers.
Althea is a Freshman from Ghent, NY majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and pursuing a minor in inequality studies. She is interested in using labor policy and union activism to cause broader systemic change. Outside of ULI, Althea is involved in People’s Organizing Collective USAS local #3. When not in Ives or on the 6th floor of Olin, Althea enjoys rock climbing, reading The Atlantic, and drinking coffee from Zeus.
Renqiu, a sophomore from Toronto, is currently pursuing a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. In addition to researching with the Undergraduate Labor Institute, he is the Social Chair of Cornell Taiwanese American Society, the Director of Programming for the Cornell Club of Taiwan, and the House Chair of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. In his spare time, he competes with the Cornell Sport Taekwondo Team.
Christopher Fiore is a freshman studying Industrial Labor Relations from Greenwich, CT. Additionally, he is a member of the Cayuga Capital investment fund and Cornell Alpine Ski Team. Chris is interested in studying how industrial automation is changing the global labor landscape.

James Granata is a sophomore in the ILR school from Orange County, New York. In addition to ULI, Granata is on the track team and cross country teams, involved with Cornell Best Buddies and a member of the Big Red Leadership Academy. Within labor, his interests mainly lie within labor issues facing the US healthcare industry, agriculture industry, contemporary labor models in Nordic states and future implications for US unions.
Daniel Hart is a freshman from Irvington, NY majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations. He is interested in sports business and disability studies with a growing interest in politics. On campus, Daniel is also a writer for the Sports Business Society's magazine.
Rachel Hidek is a junior from Syracuse, NY majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and pursuing minors in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences and Law & Society. She is also a member of the Cornell Organization for Labor Action (COLA), where she seeks to educate herself and others about the power of collective action. Outside of ULI and COLA, you’ll find her playing ultimate frisbee with the Cornell Wild Roses.
Melissa Lau is a freshman from Long Island, NY majoring in Industrial Labor Relations and pursuing a minor in Law and Society and Business. Outside of ULI she is a Student Congress Residential member, a Cornell ambassador in Big Red Ambassadors, and a member of the Conflict and Resolution club. She is interested in labor policies of foreign nations and its comparison with those found within the United States.
Andrew is a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, and is currently majoring in Sociology. In addition to joining ULI this semester, he is Secretary of the Cornell Filipino Association, an officer for the East Coast Asian American Student Union here at Cornell, and a brother of Pi Delta Psi. He also works as an administration assistant for AASP. He looks forward to contributing towards this year’s theme on climate change, and improving his academic writing skills.
Nancy is a junior in the ILR school from Brooklyn, NY. She is involved in the CAPS/Asian Studies spaces on campus, such as working at the East Asia Program as an assistant graphic designer and videographer and pursuing a China and Asia-Pacific Studies minor. She wants to learn more about the comparisons between labor issues in the US and those around the world. In her free time, she tutors middle school students, cooks with her roommates, brews kombucha, and tries to lift heavy weights.

Caroline Manning is a sophomore from Plymouth, Massachusetts majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and pursuing a minor in Business. Outside of ULI, she is a mentor within Cornell’s Youth Outreach Undergraduates Reshaping Success (YOURS) program where she mentors children in Dryden, NY. She also serves as a Human Resource Assistant for Cornell University’s Statler Hotel where she leads orientation training sessions and manages HR projects. Through ULI, she hopes to research the intersections between labor and legislation that affect workforces and lead to the adoption of new workplace policies.
Theresa Oduol is a junior in CALS pursuing an interdisciplinary studies major intersecting infectious disease biology and development economics. Within ULI, she enjoys applying her findings to an international context exploring how different societies address labor issues. Outside of ULI, Theresa conducts research in epidemiology and works at the Animal Health Diagnostic Center on campus. She is also a member of Cornell International Affairs Society which hosts multiple Model United Nations events for high school and college students where she enjoys interacting with individuals from around the world.
Kataryna Restrepo is a junior majoring in ILR and minoring in Controversies about Inequality, Law & Society, and History of Capitalism. Outside of ULI, she serves as president of the People’s Organizing Collective USAS local #3 and Cornell Young Democratic Socialists, where she centers her organizing work under concepts of intersectionality and collective liberation. When not envisioning how to strengthen the labor movement, she can be found in Cornell Cinema watching a film and or cooking back at her dorm. Kat hopes that ULI will provide a necessary research space on campus for students who deeply care about the growing precariousness of work and how it affects workers’ rights.
Eitan Wolf is a junior majoring in ILR and minoring in Information Science. He is interested in exploring the intersection of the labor movement and emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. Outside of ULI, Eitan is involved with ILR Student Government, his fraternity AEPi, and the Cornell Hillel Jewish Learning Fellowship.
Kerry is a sophomore from New York City majoring in Policy Analysis and Management and pursuing minors in Law and Society, Inequality Studies, and Business. She is particularly interested in non-profit management, criminal justice reform, and exploring the development and implementation of effective social inequality and welfare policies. Outside of ULI, she serves as the Director of Event Programming for the Willard Straight Hall Student Union Board, an Associate Operations Manager for the Cornell Policy Review, and a Co-Treasurer for the Association for Students of Color in the College of Human Ecology.
Leanna is a junior in the ILR School, with minors in Inequality Studies and Law and Society. She is interested in exploring how different forms of media shift public discourse, with specific regard to movements for social and economic justice. Outside of ULI, you may find her helping out at Ithaca’s public television studio, working as a tutor at the Cornell Writing Center, or drinking hot cocoa in Catherwood.
